My Special Royal Baby Treats {Part 2} & The Recipe

These sugar cookies are quite easy to make & it doesn't make such a large batch, like often times you will find sugar cookie recipes tend to do...

They can be served plain or decorated.
Quite flexible.

I did these all up fancy and yes that is a "C" for Charlotte...
"C" is also for Cutie-Pie...
And for "Cookies"....

I was quite pleased how they turned out! Lovely!

Sugar Cookies

1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup lard, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
pinch of salt
2 1/2 cups flour

Cream butter, lard, sugars & egg.
Add remaining ingredients.

You can form the dough into a roll & slice, or you can roll it out to about 1/2 inch thickness & cut out using cookie cutters.

You may need more or less flour, depending on how sticky your dough is.

The less times you roll it out the better, if you are planning on using cookie cutters.
It gets too sticky after a while.

Bake at 350F for 8-10 minutes, depending on your oven.
These burn easily, so watch your first batch closely.
They should be a light golden color on top & a darker golden on the bottom.
