La Kitchenette Souris: Homemade Poppy Cock

Another quick & easy recipe, that makes a large batch & freezes well.
Just put the pieces into a Ziploc bag & seal tightly, then pop it into your freezer.
I am not sure how long it lasts for, but a month at least.

I don't even like popcorn, but this is pretty good & nice to nibble on!

Homemade Poppy Cock

24 cups popped corn
1 pound mixed nuts (1 regular sized cans, about 2 1/2 cups)

Syrup:
1 1/2 cups white sugar
2 cups butter or margarine
1 cup corn syrup
Dash of salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Place popped corn & nuts in a large bowl.

Boil syrup ingredients together, to a soft ball stage.
You can test the syrup by putting a drop or two into a glass of water.
If it's ready, it will form a type of ball in the water.

Pour over popped corn & nuts.
Mix well.

Flatten on 2 greased cookie sheets.

Cool & break into pieces, before putting into bags or airtight containers.
