Greetings, my friends! I have been collecting so many little moments to share here on the blog, and if you are following me on Instagram, you'll have seen some of these already. But I wanted to online-journal them here as well.
First, allow me to help you calm your mind with a little soothing music. It comes from a movie I watched several years ago, and the theme song immediately attached itself to me. Here is ~ The Final Letter ~
Honestly, I have been mostly working, eating, doing boring grown-up requirements, sleeping, and repeating. And if you ask Raccoon, being super grumpy and depressed about it. My sleep pattern has been very weird during the month of September, and seems to be carrying on into October, so that is not helping some of the underlying sadness and past traumas I am processing through. Something that isn't talked about enough is that even huge, positive changes can result in a lot of unprocessed feelings surfacing. Also, when you are finally in a super safe space, it seems like the fatigue and pure frustration wants to get out. It's like one wants to be happy and enjoy this new safety, but, the mind has other ideas. Anyways, I don't want to ramble on about the harder things of life, but I do want to be transparent so that no one thinks my life is perfect because I focus on only the best, brightest things online!
Let's dive into the goodness!
We got Subway (I know, real fancy, but I kinda love it) and went to a pretty, man-made park to eat it. It happened to be one of the few, smoke-free nights so there actually was a gorgeous sky and it was really lovely to soak it in. Check out our views!
Here is where we were sitting:
The view looking the other way, peeking around the tree as I am always prone to do:
And then the sun began to go down, and the truly, breath-taking view began. I mean, you cannot beat that vibrant orange sky!
If that photo isn't doing it for you, I am including a second one, because the goodness contained in these colours is something my soul needs to survive daily life!
I realize I haven't properly introduced the blog to my partner, who I usually just call Racoon here. He isn't the biggest fan of putting himself out on social media, etc. but he allows me to post a few random sneaky shots here and there. He puts up with a lot of crazy from me!
BUT. I put up with THIS!!!:
Yes. He decided to wear the picnic blanket like a shawl. In public.
Another day, as I was heading out on some errands, I noticed a hot air balloon floating thru the sky! They haven't been able to "set sail" much, thanks to the smoky weather.
I went on a really pretty walk with my friend near the beginning of September, and colours were already beginning to change like crazy. Now, as I type this, it feels like it may not be long before winter hits, which makes me a little sad, as I haven't been able to properly enjoy fall. Crossing all my fingers that autumn lasts a bit longer!
Check out these beautiful leaves:
One of the photos I took I couldn't resist doing a little editing to. I was going for a somewhat Victorian feeling, and I think I succeeded. What do you think?
The pond was looking like glass on this particular day, except you should know it was surrounded by Canadian Geese/Cobra Chickens, and there was poop everywhere. Haha! But I actually am not much bothered by such things, and the Cobra Chickens never mind me anyways.
I have never been to this part of the gardens, so it was really fun to be somewhere new in my own city!
I took soooooo many photos and posted a lot more of them on my social media, if you want to check them out. However, these purple flowers made me extra pleased.
I love patterns and textures and colours, so sharing this one here for my fellow artist friends:
Then we decided to go check out a Korean Bake-shop we had never been to, and they had such amazing treats! Each one was yummy!
When you walk in, it does feel a little like you landed in a tiny Korean, airport. Super simple, but look at the cute sign:
Here is what I all got:
Think I sampled enough? I have to go back soon to get some more of the tiny cheesecakes, although there are a few other bakeries I wanna try. And I just heard about a new brunch spot, just outside of our city that I have added to our list.
Well, I hope you have enjoyed coming along some of the adventures that happened during September. I hope to return soon with a few more! Take good care, my lovelies!
