Some Of Our Favorite Spots In Banff

Starting off your morning with a little walk downtown, to get a yummy breakfast, then head off to explore a local art gallery, in an absolutely wonderful way to spend a holiday! And that is exactly what we did, on this particular day.

A gator, in a Canada toque, greeting you when you enter the restaurant. Canada can be weird sometimes.

The last time we were in Banff, we tried to get in for breakfast at Tooloulou's, but had a less than desirable customer service experience. However, we decided to give it one more, because we had heard good things about the food, and were really craving some good pancakes.

This time, we had a wonderful experience, and the food truly is delicious.

So so so many odd things at Tooloulou's but salt and pepper being in old coke bottles definitely fits the vibe. If you've been there, you know what I mean. LOL

Super fluffy, filling, Buttermilk Pancakes with a side of bacon. Carbs and grease are the best.

I did pick up a few postcards and pop them into the mail before we left Banff, because I always like to send little notes to a few friends who often send me postcards when on adventures. It's so fun!

Arriving at the beautiful Whyte Museum and Art Gallery. I always am nervous that I will be disappointed in the art gallery, because I am not really into modern art. Sometimes, the odd piece will speak to me or make sense, and I appreciate everyone's form of art being different.

But I am a classic girlie. I love oil, watercolour, and such what and I love being able to immediately know what I am looking at.

This gallery did not disappoint me. This was MY type of gallery.

The museum part is wonderful. It tells so many stories about the local area and history of it, plus shares details of the discoveries and explorers. Well worth taking the time to read a lot of what they have written, as it really deepens your appreciation for Banff and the Mountains.

They also have this research library, that is open a few hours every week, and has endless amounts of books, photos, and anything you could possibly want to know about this area.

I genuinely loved nearly every art piece in this place. It was especially cool to see art pieces of places I have been too and recognized.

Enjoy the endless amount of photos I will now share.

Well, that's all for this post! Tomorrow we will head off for a day in Canmore!
